The objective of the quadrennial International Radiation Symposium is to provide a forum to review the state of the art in the field of atmospheric radiation. The sessions were arranged according to four major topics and the same organization is followed in this book. In topic 3 on basic radiative processes, the place given to the spectroscopic problems and the radiation field in the middle atmosphere is probably larger than in some previous IRSs; this corresponds to a growing interest of the radiation community and more specifically of the Radiation Commission of IAMAP.
About 170 of the papers presented at the 1988 International Radiation Symposium (IRS '88) are collected in this book of proceedings. Contents - Clouds And Radiation
